Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology or related field.

Experience working with children, adolescents and their families.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the Agency's insurance company.
- Must be approved by the Agency to transport clients in agency and/or own vehicle.
Applewood Centers is a private, nonprofit agency providing mental health services, social services and education to children, adolescents and families living in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties. Dedicated to addressing a variety of behavioral, emotional and learning problems, we provide a continuum of care from outpatient counseling to residential treatment.
The Group Therapeutic Services (GTS) Youth Specialist will provide guidance and instruction to foster emotional, physical and mental growth of clients through therapeutic group facilitation, intervention and positive role modeling. In addition, the position will assist in client transportation and other group activities in accordance with established guidelines.
Essential Duties:
- basic child, adolescent and family development
- issues that are relevant to children and adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral problems
- interventions used in helping severely troubled clients.
