Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

Job description Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing processes and coding systems to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for medical services.

• Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
• Utilize medical billing software to process claims
• Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim denials or appeals
• Maintain patient billing records and update as necessary
• Stay current on insurance guidelines, regulations, and industry changes

• Proficiency in ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG coding systems
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Experience in medical billing and collections
• Familiarity with electronic medical records system ATHENA
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred

Job Types: Full-time Employee or Contract

Pay: $40,000 to $55,000 Salary

• 8 hour shift (9:00AM - 5:00PM)
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
