Registered Respiratory Therapist
role within University Hospitals

Positions are available for new-graduate and experienced respiratory therapy professionals across various locations. Candidates must meet the minimum education and licensing requirements set forth by the State of OH to practice at the time of hire.

A Respiratory Therapist is learning and incorporating the mission statement and standards of behavior of his/her hospital or care facility. This therapist performs basic competencies within orientation and provides satisfactory respiratory therapy with minimum supervision.

• Mechanical ventilation
• Airway clearance therapy
• Oxygen and humidity therapy

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory (Required) or
• Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory (Required)

• 1+ years Respiratory Therapy experience (Required)

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (Required Upon Hire)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Preferred)
• AARC membership within 6 months of hire date (Required)

NRP Certification (Neonatal facilities) (Required within 6 Months)
