Are you passionate about planning and executing events? Shoreby Club in Bratenahl, Ohio is looking for an experienced, full-time Event Manager/Junior Sales Manager to join its highly functioning and passionate Events Team. Director, Private Sales & Events (Direct) General Manager (Indirect)
- Ensuring guest and member satisfaction is met and exceeded while managing bar, service staff, and management of inventory and supplies.
- Respond to sales inquiries from potential clients and members seeking meeting space, food and beverage services, etc.
- Qualifies sales leads within outlined market and to drive event revenue
- Conduct property site visits and answer questions
- Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, service accounts and create detailed event orders for operations teams for execution of events.
- Partner with operations departments to ensure full participation in servicing accounts
- Assisting the Event & Sales Manager and Sales & Events Director. The Events Manager will be working closely with the Sales & Events Director to plan and coordinate private events which can vary from weddings and fundraisers to private dinners and corporate meetings.
- Delegates duties to the service staff and ensure they are completed such as side work, room setups, etc.
- Creates staff plans, timelines, and all other necessary documents to ensure proper and smooth service for all events
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a management position
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in Food and Beverage
- Club experience is preferred but not required
- 4-year Degree or equivalent preferred
- Supervise all service staff to ensure proper service standards are met or exceeded
- Inspects the condition of linen, dinnerware, and other service items to ensure proper appearance prior to event
- Delegates duties to the service staff and ensure they are completed such as side work, room setups, etc.
- Creates staff plans, timelines, and all other necessary documents to ensure proper and smooth service for all events
- Always monitor both food and service quality to ensure standards are met or exceeded
- Inspect staff to ensure that they are in proper uniform
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization through storage areas
- Make sure all pre‑and‑post event checklists are completed
- Make sure all SOPs are reviewed frequently, updated, and followed
- Works with Facilities Manager to ensure all spaces are properly set
- Develop knowledge of Jonas/JAM POS system to produce Banquet Event Orders
- Communicate and distribute all event information to appropriate internal staff and managers, working directly with all other departments to ensure all event details are accounted for
- Attend and manage on‑site execution of events from installation, delivery, and setup through dinner service, and when assigned through to event conclusion
- Ensure all inquiries and leads within assigned market are responded to in an enthusiastic and timely manner
- Follows and enforces all rules and policies of Shoreby Club
- Acts as the point of contact to members and guests during banquet functions
- Inspects facilities to ensure proper maintenance of equipment including chairs, tables, light bulbs, etc.
- Assist with service, table clearing and resetting when necessary
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 lbs. without assistance
- Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and efficiently is a must
- Understanding of food and beverage services, BEO’s and floor plans
- Able to work at a rapid pace while multi‑tasking
- Must manage time correctly and efficiently while having both motivational and teaching skills
- Must be able to work weekday mornings/evenings, weekends and holidays as based on business
- Must be flexible, proactive, and professional with all events
