Position:
Traffic Controller – Metro Health Medical Center

Starting pay: $16 per hour

Work schedule:

Monday through Friday, 5am to 1pm or 12noon to 7pm

No nights or weekends required.

The Traffic Coordinator directs vehicular traffic efficiently and provides exceptional hospitality services, including issuing valet parking tickets, upholding parking policies, retrieving vehicles, and assisting guests with luggage during arrival and departure.

• Direct vehicular traffic while maintaining courteous and friendly service to all patients and guests.
• Assist the marketing department with targeted marketing efforts.
• Maintain a pleasant, professional demeanor with all guests, staff, and co‑workers.
• Use guests’ last names appropriately and maintain accuracy under pressure.
• Provide directions, handle inquiries, and offer information about surrounding attractions.
• Protect guest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
• Collect and record parking data and maintain claim checks and guest folio archives.
• Retrieve vehicles safely, driving at appropriate speeds and using proper parking procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• One to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience if no HS diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of traffic and valet procedures.
• Read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos in standard English.
• Perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret time and measurement units.
• Understand 24‑hour and military time systems.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Computer and register experience preferred.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission and perform parallel parking.

The position follows established practices and procedures. Incumbent’s decisions are guided by specific operational instructions and departmental guidelines. Work is inspected frequently and any errors in judgment could affect department efficiency.

Employees regularly sit or stand for extended periods, may run, walk, and handle objects. Tasks include reaching, climbing stairs, and balancing. Frequent lifting up to 50lb occasionally or 25lb frequently. Work is performed outdoors, exposing employees to weather conditions and potential extremes of heat and cold.

Travel up to 5% may be required.
