Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Benefit Specialist administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as a liaison between employees and insurance providers. This position resolves benefit-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The Human Resource Benefit Specialist ensures that certain plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry.
PRINCIPALJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related fields and/or 6 years of equivalent experience. At least two years of related benefit experience required
SKILLS:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
WORKING CONDITIONS:The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
