The HR Generalist is responsible for providing a wide range of support for the HR team with a main focus on Employee Relations. This role helps run investigations, ensuring thorough documentation, determining best outcome solutions and partnering/advising our department leaders as needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Acts as HR Employee Relations point of contact for the company’s employees as needed
- Responsible for Employee Relations Intake/investigative process
- Ensures through Employee Relations investigations process, thorough documentation is required
- Partners and supports department leaders in finding Employee Relations solutions that support the business and our Fundamental Principles
- Creates/help to develop and implement formal Employee Relations investigation process
- Assists/takes ownership in Employee Relations structure/software
- Assists in providing HR policy guidance and interpretation
- Assists/identifies department leaders and HR teams with training/skill gaps as needed
- Provides observations to HR Director, talent and acquisition teams as needed regarding Employee Relations
- Assists/help to create, edit policies, procedures, employee handbook as needed
- Supports Director of HR/VP of HR with projects or other tasks as assigned
- Degree in Human Resources, Business or similar discipline; 3-5+ years’ experience in an HR related field; a combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of HR related functions such as Employee Relations, Compliance, Benefits, Compensation, Employee Engagement, Training
- Able to independently use MS Office products including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of basic employment law such as FSLA and federal/state laws is preferred
- SHRM or HRCI Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
- Problem solver that is extremely detail-oriented, self-directed, and self-motivated with a desire to contribute positively to the organization's reputation and success.
- Strong customer service skills and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, handle multiple tasks, meet established targets, and work within critical milestones.
- Results oriented and able to effectively gain extensive knowledge of customer business environment.
- Strong personal and work ethics along with a high level of integrity.
