IT Infrastructure Network Architect – Huntington National Bank
Summary: The Principal Architect–Senior provides the technical vision and direction for the integration of all information systems.
Responsibilities- Oversees the definition of architecture requirements for all information systems, covering both functional and non‑functional aspects such as performance, reliability, and security.
- Defines and documents key architectural concepts, abstractions and the target system architecture, spanning application, data, and technical infrastructure.
- Selects strategic tools and platforms for development, testing and deployment.
- Ensures the communication of principle technical drivers such as trends, best practice, standards setting and application.
- Defines technical objectives, goals, constraints, key features and overall architecture approach.
- Mentors technical staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5–10+ years of related experience.
- Ensures network designs comply with security standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements.
- Architects connectivity between multi‑cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on‑premises data centers.
- Evaluates network hardware/software vendors and manages licensing and cost optimization.
- Expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, and WAN optimization. Strong knowledge of IPv6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and network virtualization.
- Experience designing architectures and delivering information systems, including data/information architecture, technical infrastructure, and application architecture.
- Develops and maintains enterprise‑wide network architecture aligned with business goals and technology strategies.
- Designs scalable, secure, and high‑performance network solutions for hybrid environments (on‑premises, cloud, and edge).
- Partners with Enterprise Network Services to create long‑term network technology roadmaps.
- Evaluates emerging technologies and recommends integration strategies.
- Familiarity with cloud networking, SDN, and micro‑segmentation.
- Certifications such as CCIE, AWS Advanced Networking, or Azure Network Engineer Associate preferred.
- Experience with TOGAF (certification preferred) enterprise architecture framework and governance practices.
Exempt Status: Yes – not eligible for overtime pay.
Workplace Type: Office. Certain positions may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement combining in‑office and work‑from‑home.
Compensation: $93,000.00 – $ USD annually. Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, and performance. Eligibility for incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, wellness program, life & disability insurance, retirement plan, paid leave, holidays, and PTO.
