IT Support, Systems Administrator
Overall Responsibility / Primary Objective
The Systems Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems supporting both Internal IT infrastructure and configuration lab environments. This role ensures seamless setup and support for projects and clients/customers, including building VPN tunnels and establishing distribution points for device imaging. The specialist will collaborate with project teams to deliver technical solutions, support lab operations, and maintain high standards of system reliability and security.
KeyTasks and Responsibilities
- Provision, configure, and maintain systems for both Internal IT and Configuration Centers.
- Set up projects and onboard clients/customers, including technical environment preparation.
- Build and manage VPN tunnels for secure client connectivity.
- Establish and maintain distribution points for device imaging and deployment.
- Support and maintain Microsoft Active Directory, Entra, Intune, servers, and related applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues across IT and lab environments.
- Document environments and update knowledge management systems.
- Perform capacity and performance planning for production and lab environments.
- Provide escalation support for end users and service desk functions.
- Design, implement, and maintain automation systems for business and lab workflows.
- Lead and assist in business reporting configuration and maintenance efforts.
- Collaborate with operations staff to execute, test, and roll out solutions.
- Mentor Service Support Technicians and contribute to skills development.
- High levels of user, client and customer satisfaction.
- Reliable and secure project/client onboarding and environment setup.
- Effective monitoring and notification of systems.
- Ongoing maintenance and advancement of IT and lab workflows.
- High-quality design and diagnostic support for projects and requests.
- Expanding responsibility and mentorship within the support team.
- Attention to detail and professional demeanor.
- Ability to manage confidential and proprietary company information.
- Experience in team-oriented, collaborative environments.
- Strong issue identification and management skills.

- Proficiency in software, troubleshooting, and hardware repair.
- Ability to travel locally as needed.
- Associate technology degree or equivalent work experience (4+ years in a support environment).
- Technical certifications preferred and/or working toward (Cisco, CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.).
- Microsoft A+ minimum, MCP preferred.
- Experience with VPN setup, device imaging, and lab environment support is highly desirable.
- Sitting for extended periods.
- Dexterity to operate a keyboard and mouse.
- Normal office and lab working conditions.
- Lifting and transporting moderately heavy objects (servers, endpoints, peripherals).
