Project Manager (Product Development)
Brief
Description:
Responsible for leading software and product development projects from initiation through launch. The Project Manager translates business and product requirements into structured execution plans, coordinates cross‑functional teams (product, engineering, QA, and business stakeholders), and ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to defined objectives.
The position monitors timelines, manages risk, facilitates Agile or hybrid delivery processes, and communicates progress and issues to stakeholders. The role is accountable for driving execution, resolving obstacles, and supporting continuous improvement in project management practices.
Major Functions- Lead end-to-end delivery of software and product development projects, from initiation through launch and post-delivery review, ensuring defined business objectives are achieved.
- Drive project execution by identifying risks, resolving issues, and making trade-off recommendations to maintain progress and alignment.
- Partner with product owners, developers, QA engineers, and business stakeholders to define requirements, scope, success criteria, and delivery milestones.
- Develop and maintain actionable project plans, schedules, and resource forecasts using Agile, Scrum, or hybrid methodologies as appropriate.
- Lead cross‑functional teams with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and timely delivery.
- Monitor progress against goals, timelines, and quality standards; elevate or adjust plans when projects deviate from scope or schedule.
- Facilitate sprint planning, stand‑ups, reviews, retrospectives, and stakeholder check‑ins focused on execution and continuous improvement.
- Provide clear stakeholder communication, including regular updates, risk visibility, and expectation management.
- Support adherence to software development best practices, quality standards, and organizational policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve project execution processes, tools, workflows, and delivery frameworks.
- Share lessons learned and help establish repeatable processes to strengthen project management practices within Tooling U‑SME.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- At least 5 years of experience in project management, including at least 2 years leading software or product development projects.
- Demonstrated experience driving delivery outcomes beyond status reporting.
- At least 1 year of experience leading or coordinating teams in a formal or informal leadership capacity.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum methodologies, and modern delivery practices.
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g. Jira, Azure Dev Ops, Trello, MS Project, Asana).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and decision‑making skills with the ability to work across technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- PMP, PMI‑ACP, Scrum Master, or similar certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft technology stack and Microsoft Azure environments.
- Background in enterprise software, SaaS, or data‑driven applications.
