Overview
The Microsoft Exchange and Teams Engineer will work on our Infrastructure Services Team to support Plante Moran’s internal communications solutions, including Microsoft Exchange Online, email security, Microsoft Teams, voice services, video conferencing, and other communications solutions.
Your role- Design, administer, and establish system standards for messaging and communication solutions, including Microsoft Exchange Online, email security, Microsoft Teams (Unified Communications: Chat, Video, Voice, and Meetings), voice, video conferencing, and fax services.
- Lead infrastructure and security related projects from idea generation to implementation, including selection, recommendation, design, testing, and implementation of various solutions.
- Provide support, analysis, and remediation on escalated support incidents from the help desk regarding Microsoft Exchange Online, Outlook, email security (phishing, malware, spam), Microsoft Teams (including voice), telecommunications services, video conferencing, and other communications solutions.
- Perform solution administration tasks, including reviewing and monitoring event logs/performance KPIs and baselines.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation.
- Manage and maintain positive working relationships with vendors.
- Develop and test disaster recovery, incident response, and business continuity plans. Capacity planning and yearly budgeting.
- Participate in after‑hours maintenance windows to update, change, and install various systems.
- Occasional participation in the on‑call rotation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related major is preferred.
- At least three years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft Exchange Online and email security solutions.
- Experience with eDiscovery, Litigation Hold, and compliance processes.
- Strong Power Shell scripting skills.
- Knowledge of external email routing and configuration, including MX records, SPF, DMARC, and DKIM.
- Entra familiarity with the Microsoft 365 / M365 suite of solutions.
- Occasional travel may be required.

This is an exempt position, so you may have to work hours that exceed the standard 40‑hour work week.

Compensation range: $89,500 - $120,000 (for the CO, IL, OH, and MA regions).
