Job SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Data Architect or Data Architect Lead to drive design, technology selection and architectural decisions for complex product development initiatives. The role focuses on modernizing legacy, on‑premises data assets into cloud‑native, scalable architectures while aligning with enterprise standards, security, and business objectives.
Responsibilities- Own the selection of design patterns, technologies and solution architectures for product development projects, ensuring alignment with business, technical and enterprise requirements.
- Act as a trusted consultant to business areas, clients and stakeholders to identify gaps, propose solution options and recommend optimal technologies.
- Document architecture decisions and technical standards to support knowledge sharing across the organization.
- Champion complex, strategic enterprise solutions by communicating architecture decisions and technical concepts across all levels, from technical teams to senior management.
- Refine and support a portfolio‑wide data optimization strategy to further align existing assets with a modern, cloud‑native architecture.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout the full development lifecycle, including ideation, development, integration, testing and production support.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends; develop strategic recommendations for architecture investments that reduce cost, increase security, eliminate redundancies and improve system flexibility.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key technology vendors and business partners to stay current on industry developments and enterprise architecture landscape shifts.
- Own the data infrastructure strategy and roadmap; assess current state, identify gaps and drive architectural initiatives and monitoring solutions from planning through implementation.
- Establish, enforce and evolve data governance policies, quality frameworks and compliance practices to ensure data integrity, security, accuracy and regulatory adherence across critical systems.
- Collaborate with data stewards, compliance teams and technical leads to translate governance and regulatory requirements into technical controls, validation rules, access policies and audit mechanisms.
- Assist in establishing a flexible and valuable portfolio‑level data catalog that will drive transparency and promote reusability.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of professional work experience or Master’s degree and 3 years of professional work experience (Senior role);
Bachelor’s degree and 7 years or Master’s degree and 5 years of related work experience (Lead role). - Proven track record of designing and implementing complex, production‑grade systems in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment.
- Deep experience in enterprise & solutions architecture, including distributed systems, microservices, API architectures and cloud‑native applications.
- Understanding of financial services technology, payment systems, regulatory requirements and the banking technology landscape.
- Strong background in modern application development, web, mobile and backend architectures with emphasis on scalability, security and performance.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), containerization, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as CDK or Terraform.
- Proficiency in data modeling, integration patterns and database technologies (relational and No
SQL). - Working knowledge of architecture frameworks (TOGAF, C4, AWS Well‑Architected Framework or similar).
Base salary range for the Senior role: $111,400 – $153,100 annually. Final offer will consider background, experience, skills, internal equity and market data.
