Data Platform/Cloud DBA (Nearshore)
Role OverviewThe Databricks and Snowflake DBA will support the administration and operational management of the organization’s modern data platform. This role will focus on maintaining platform stability, performance optimization, and environment management for Databricks and Snowflake.
This position supports an enterprise data platform that is currently expanding its Databricks footprint while continuing to scale Snowflake capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Platform Administration- Administer and maintain Databricks and Snowflake environments.
- Monitor platform performance and system utilization.
- Manage data platform configurations and operational tasks.
- Postgres database support responsibilities for Semarchy and Collibra.
- Assist with query performance tuning and resource optimization.
- Monitor usage patterns and support cost optimization initiatives.
- Ensure platform availability and reliability.
- Database, schema, table, and view management
- Support environment configuration and administration.
- Assist with upgrades, patches, and platform maintenance.
- Coordinate with engineering teams on operational improvements.
- Participate in platform support activities including incident response.
- Maintain documentation related to platform administration and operational procedures.
- Experience administering Snowflake or Databricks platforms
- Experience with traditional RDBMS engines such as Postgres, Oracle, or SQL Server
- Experience supporting enterprise data platforms
- Strong understanding of database administration concepts
- Experience monitoring and optimizing platform performance
- Experience supporting Azure based environments
- Experience supporting large scale analytics platforms
- Apache Iceberg experience
