**** Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*** Lead the planning, implementation, maintenance, and support of all convention center technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, wireless systems, telecommunications, cybersecurity, digital signage, and end-user systems.
* Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to the IT team by fostering a collaborative, service-oriented culture focused on operational excellence, professional development, accountability, and continuous improvement
* Oversee IT operations supporting conventions, trade shows, live events, meetings, ticketing platforms, and guest-facing technologies to ensure exceptional service delivery.
* Manage enterprise network environments including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, fiber connectivity, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and internet services for exhibitors, vendors, staff, and guests.
* Direct cybersecurity initiatives including access controls, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, incident response, backup and disaster recovery strategies, and compliance with organizational security standards.
* Manage special projects as assigned by the Assistant General Manager and/or General Manager.
* Collaborate with all convention center departments to deliver technology solutions that meet operational and event-specific requirements.
* Ensure high availability and performance of mission-critical systems including POS systems, digital displays, security systems, surveillance integrations, VoIP platforms, and building technology interfaces.
* Develop and manage IT operating budgets, capital improvement projects, vendor relationships, contracts, software licensing, and technology procurement activities.
* Lead IT staff recruitment, supervision, scheduling, training, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
* Establish and maintain IT policies, procedures, documentation, operational standards, and business continuity/disaster recovery plans.
* Coordinate with third-party service providers, internet carriers, managed service partners, and technology vendors to support venue operations and large-scale events.
* Monitor system performance, troubleshoot escalated technical issues, and ensure timely resolution of operational incidents.
* Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, technology refreshes, and modernization initiatives aligned with organizational goals and future event requirements.
* Support hybrid and live-streaming event technologies including conferencing platforms, broadcast connectivity, and digital collaboration tools.
* Maintain compliance with applicable data privacy, payment processing, and cybersecurity regulations and standards.
* Provide on-site leadership and technical support during major events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
* Analyze operational metrics and prepare reports related to system performance, cybersecurity posture, service delivery, and technology utilization.
