The IT Systems Support Engineer will provide an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining the organization's on-premises and cloud IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have one to three years of technical experience providing IT support to business users, maintaining and documenting IT infrastructure systems, a strong eagerness to learn, solid problem‑solving abilities, and demonstrated interest in IT infrastructure, security, and system administration.
This role offers hands‑on experience with complex IT systems and the opportunity to develop technical skills under the guidance of senior team members.
- Assist with the design, planning, and implementation of IT systems and solutions based on business requirements
- Help evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies to achieve organizational goals
- Support senior engineers in deploying new systems and infrastructure components
- Assist in managing and maintaining the organization's cloud-based systems, on-premises infrastructure, server-based applications, network, storage systems, and endpoints
- Support efforts to improve reliability, stability, and security of cloud and on-premises environments
- Help maintain optimal performance of infrastructure systems through monitoring and routine maintenance
- Assist with implementing and testing backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
- Provide level 2 and level 3 technical support for issues related to systems, networks, and applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, collaborating with cross‑functional teams as necessary
- Analyze root causes of recurring problems and assist in implementing preventive measures
- Document technical issues and resolutions in ticketing systems
- Participate in IT projects, assisting with planning, design, implementation and documentation
- Support project coordination by tracking tasks, timelines, and deliverables
- Assist in implementing security best practices to safeguard systems and data from cyber threats
- Help ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal policies
- Support regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities
- Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents under senior systems engineer guidance
- Assist with managing security platforms (email security, phishing campaigns, vulnerability & penetration testing, etc.)
- Participate in security patch management and vulnerability remediation efforts
- Learn to develop automation scripts and tools to streamline system administration tasks
- Work with scripting languages (Power Shell, Python) to improve operational efficiency
- Assist senior engineers in implementing automated solutions and workflows
- Collaborate with IT teams, including service desk, network, cybersecurity, and third‑party partners to ensure seamless IT operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology from an accredited college or university in a related discipline. In the absence of a degree, directly related job experience serving in an IT System Administrator or Systems Engineering role, where a number of years, proven knowledge, and certifications may offset the degree requirement.
Requirements- 2+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, etc.
- 1+ years of hands‑on experience in IT systems administration
- Experience imaging and deploying Windows desktops/laptops (Microsoft Intune)
- Experience with basic networking & troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN)
- Experience supporting/administering Microsoft 365/Office 365 environments
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours in multiple time zones for critical incidents and/or system upgrades, etc. and on‑call rotation
- Willingness to travel occasionally for infrastructure maintenance/upgrades, etc.
