Ab Initio Developer (8-10 Years) Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Ab Initio Developer with 8-10 years of experience in ETL development, data warehousing, and large-scale data integration projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Ab Initio, Unix Shell Scripting, SQL (Teradata/Hadoop), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and ETL optimization
, with prior experience in the Banking domain. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable ETL solutions while leading technical initiatives and mentoring junior developers.

• Lead and own the complete ETL development lifecycle from requirement analysis through implementation and production support.
• Design, develop, optimize, and maintain ETL solutions using Ab Initio.
• Build scalable data integration pipelines for large-volume data processing and transformation.
• Develop and maintain Unix Shell scripts for automation, monitoring, and operational support.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation logic using Teradata, Hadoop, or related platforms.
• Work with Cloud Storage and cloud-native ETL processing tools within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Establish and maintain data lineage, metadata management, and governance using Ab Initio Metadata Hub.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
• Lead and mentor onshore/offshore development teams and conduct code reviews.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
• Ensure ETL solutions meet performance, scalability, security, and compliance standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement performance optimization strategies.

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience with Ab Initio ETL development.
• Strong expertise in ETL design, development, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with large-scale data integration and enterprise data warehouse projects.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and metadata management.

• Strong SQL development experience.
• Experience working with:
  • Teradata
  • Hadoop Ecosystem
  • Oracle SQL
• Data profiling, reconciliation, and data quality validation experience.

• Strong Unix/Linux Shell Scripting expertise.
• Experience with text processing tools (awk, sed, grep, etc.).
• Exposure to scheduling and workflow automation tools.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Hands‑on experience with Cloud Storage and cloud-native ETL processing frameworks.

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python for automation and data processing.

• Minimum 5 years of Banking or Financial Services industry experience.

• Ab Initio Metadata Hub and Data Lineage implementation.
• Experience leading distributed teams across onshore and offshore locations.
• Exposure to CI/CD and Dev Ops practices in data engineering environments.
• Knowledge of data governance and regulatory compliance frameworks.
