Application Security Associate / Analyst – Cleveland Fed

Position Overview:

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland seeks qualified candidates for the roles of Application Security Associate or Application Security Analyst. These positions provide leadership for protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of web and/or mobile applications within the Federal Government’s Treasury Services environment.

• Identify security related issues and define security requirements during all phases of the application development lifecycle.
• Review development documentation to ensure adherence to secure coding standards and guidelines.
• Coordinate with developers to ensure secure and resilient design, prototyping, development, testing, support, and documentation of moderately complex application software.
• Monitor for atypical usage of information system accounts and other abnormalities to identify possible breaches.
• Assist with FISMA initiatives, including updating security plans, to support ISSO responsibilities.
• Perform penetration testing activities to ensure web vulnerabilities are not present within Treasury Services applications.
• Conduct analysis and interpretation of cybersecurity trends and emerging risks, quantify potential impact, and develop conclusions and recommended application security responses.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

• Application Security Associate:
  Associate’s degree and 2years of related work experience, OR Bachelor’s degree and no prior related work experience.
• Application Security Analyst:
  Associate’s degree and 5years of related work experience, OR Bachelor’s degree and 3years of related work experience, OR Master’s degree and 0–1year of related work experience.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze complex business requirements.
• In‑depth understanding of application, service, and system security controls.
• Knowledge of cloud‑based platforms and technologies.
• Familiarity with access control, authentication, and auditing controls.
• Knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies in application security vulnerabilities.
• Proficiency testing web applications for security vulnerabilities, especially OWASP Top
  10, and familiarity with related testing tools.

Estimated salary for Application Security Associate: $73,400–$91,800 per year.

Estimated salary for Application Security Analyst: $81,600–$102,300 per year.
