IT Business Analyst, Business Systems/ Tech Analyst, Data Analyst
We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst to support our Fortune 200 retail client. This team is working through a large backlog of features and enhancements, and they need someone who can help drive clarity, keep requirements moving, and support productive collaboration across product, UX, and software engineering.
This role is ideal for someone with experience writing business requirements, working with stakeholders, and supporting software product teams. Curiosity, strong communication skills, and the ability to quickly absorb new information are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document business requirements for a wide range of application features.
- Write clear, structured requirements and update them as input comes in from the team.
- Schedule and facilitate meetings to review new features, enhancements, and backlog items.
- Help organize, prioritize, and refine a large backlog of requirements across multiple product areas.
- Ensure requirements are complete, actionable, and ready for UX, development, and QA teams.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and UX designers to understand feature needs and user workflows.
- Actively listen, ask targeted questions, and convey information in a concise and well‑organized manner.
- Receive and incorporate feedback constructively to improve documentation quality.
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements or user stories.
- Strong written communication skills, especially in producing clear and structured documentation.
- Understanding of SDLC concepts and how product teams operate.
- Awareness of UX principles and the role of UX in product development.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new concepts quickly.
- Ability to work efficiently through a high volume of backlog items and shifting priorities.
- No coding required — just the ability to understand concepts and terminology at a high level.
- Basic familiarity with APIs, modern application architecture, or backend concepts (helpful when writing documentation).
- Experience with product or requirements tools (Jira, Azure Dev Ops, etc.).
- Background supporting a software application with multiple features or modules.
- Bachelor's Degree in MIS
