IT Systems Engineer | Manufacturing Operations
Salary: $55,000 to $70,000 plus annual bonus and outstanding benefits
Ashton North is conducting a confidential search for a Technology Systems Engineer to join the IT organization of a growing global manufacturer.
This is not a traditional desktop support position.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, building technology solutions, improving processes, and becoming a trusted technology partner to the business.
You’ll work across infrastructure, Microsoft technologies, manufacturing systems, automation, enterprise applications, and end user technology while helping shape the future of IT inside a modern manufacturing environment.
If you’re the type of person who would rather automate a repetitive task than perform it a hundred times, enjoys learning new technologies, and likes wearing multiple hats, we’d love to talk.
What You’ll Be Working OnEvery day is a little different in this role.
One day you may be deploying new laptops, troubleshooting a Windows Server issue, improving Microsoft 365 administration, or helping support the infrastructure that keeps the business running. The next, you could be partnering with manufacturing, operations, and engineering teams to solve production challenges, implement new technologies, improve business processes, or automate repetitive work.
You’ll help manage the lifecycle of end user devices, maintain system security, support backup and disaster recovery initiatives, improve documentation, and identify opportunities to simplify how technology supports the business.
This isn’t a role where you’ll spend your day simply closing help desk tickets.
It’s an opportunity to become a trusted technology partner who helps improve how the business operates.
What Success Looks LikeSuccess in this role comes from taking ownership, being curious, and always looking for better ways to solve problems.
The ideal candidate enjoys learning new technologies, takes pride in figuring things out, and isn’t afraid to step outside their comfort zone when a challenge presents itself. Rather than waiting for someone else to solve a problem, you naturally jump in, investigate, collaborate, and see it through to completion.
You’ll be joining a team that believes IT should be embedded within the business, not operating on the sidelines. Your work will directly support manufacturing, operations, and the people who rely on technology every day.
Technical ExperienceWe’re looking for someone with a strong Microsoft infrastructure background who is comfortable supporting Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra , Azure, and Intune in an enterprise environment.
Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper V, backup solutions like Veeam, storage technologies including Net App, and Cisco networking will help you hit the ground running.
You’ll also have the opportunity to work with Microsoft Teams collaboration technologies, Palo Alto firewalls, Zebra printers, manufacturing applications, and other business critical systems that keep production moving.
Experience writing Power Shell scripts, building automations, working with APIs, supporting manufacturing technologies, or integrating IoT and PLC connected environments is highly valued.
You don’t need experience with every technology listed above. We’re far more interested in finding someone with a solid technical foundation, strong troubleshooting skills, and the curiosity to learn new technologies as our environment continues to evolve.
What We’re Looking For- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or another technical discipline. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in another field and strong IT experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience supporting Windows based enterprise environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and infrastructure.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A self starter who enjoys learning and solving problems.
- Someone who takes ownership and follows through.
- Experience in manufacturing or other fast paced business environments is a plus.
This is an opportunity to join an IT organization that is investing heavily in its future.
Rather than being limited to one technology or one specialty, you’ll gain exposure across infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, manufacturing systems, automation, and enterprise applications while working alongside a leadership team committed to continuous improvement.
If you’re looking for a role where you can broaden your technical skills, make a measurable impact, and grow your career, this is an outstanding opportunity.
- Annual performance bonus
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) with generous company match
- Paid time off
- Long term career growth within a growing global manufacturing organization
