Our Infrastructure Support Engineers (SE) are the backbone of Lazorpoint. The SE team serves clients by effectively communicating, troubleshooting and resolving client and end-user requests, primarily remotely with some onsite assistance as well.

Primary functions of a Support Engineer:
  • Communicate and work with client users/end users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve client service requests with appropriate follow-up.
  • Support clients by performing both onsite and remote preventative maintenance tasks on servers, end user devices, and network equipment.
  • Test and install hardware and software.
  • Stage new hardware in preparation for deployment into a production environment.
  • Proactively monitor client equipment for failures.
  • Expeditiously answers user requests.
  • Document common client issues.
  • Work alongside team members and mentor as needed for our internship program.
  • Local travel is required.
In addition to being mission-focused and resourceful, we are also looking for the following qualities in a Support Engineer:
  • Preferably 1-5 years relevant professional or internship experience with Microsoft platforms:
    Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange, Active Directory, SQL Server, Office 365
  • Basic networking knowledge (switching, routers, DNS, TCP/IP)
  • Virtualization and cloud support knowledge across various platforms and products.
  • Mobile devices knowledge.
  • A deep desire for providing service excellence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to drive issues to resolution with research and working directly with hardware and software vendors.
  • Confidently translate complex technical concepts in an easy to understand manner.
  • Desire to learn and work with emerging technologies implemented for clients.
  • Excellent organization, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Work well in a team environment as well as independently.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or another related field is preferred.
  • Technical certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, Citrix, CompTIA, Apple, etc. a plus.
