SummaryThis Underwriter II evaluates data and risk characteristics of groups to establish prospect and renewal rates, working independently through initial recommendations. They train Underwriter I on new tools as needed and demonstrate knowledge of core underwriting concepts and techniques, general health insurance and benefit and funding designs/methodology.
Formal Education Required- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Group Underwriter or equivalent combination of experience and training in commercial health risk lines.
- Word at a basic level.
- Excel at an intermediate level.
- Sit for prolonged periods.
- Bend, stoop, and stretch.
- Lift up to 20 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to operate computer, phone, and standard office machines.
$30.91/hr – $46.36/hr base salary exclusive of bonuses or differentials. Factors such as years of experience and location are considered when determining starting pay.
