Position: Legal College Intern-Summer 2026

what you'll do

  • support the office of legal counsel and assist the department in its mission
  • assist staff in coordinating legal activities
  • research, writing, and assisting with projects
  • assist with projects needing legal research
  • research, analyze, investigate and draft legal documents
  • prepare, review and edit legal correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents under guidance of supervisor
  • research and analyze legal sources such as statutes, case law, administrative records, opinions, articles, treaties, policies, and rules and regulations
  • attend and observe administrative hearings
  • assist staff with case management
  • follow policies and rules to ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
  • comply with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity
  • apply your knowledge of administrative law
  • use lexis/nexis legal research tools
  • perform other duties as directed

work hours: part-time variable work schedule between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm, monday-friday; may work up to 29 hours per week.
