* As a Buyer, you are responsible for performing a variety of routine buying/purchasing tasks involving materials, supplies, or services.  You will review purchase requirements and places orders with approved suppliers.  Evaluates bids, select and/or recommend suppliers and negotiate price, delivery, quality and service.  Follows up on all awards until completion of order.

** Pay Range** :  $60,000-$65,000

** Your Challenge:*
* + Purchase and maintain proper inventory levels of all raw materials and finished goods.

+ The purchasing activities for assigned customer projects and customer demand requirements.

+ Procure commercial and safety related materials ensuring compliance, quality, and on time delivery.

+ Evaluate demand requirements and develop sourcing strategies to support project timelines.

+ Manage purchase orders from initiation through completion, including expediting and issue resolution.

+ Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to support long term supply stability and performance.

+ Support strategic sourcing initiatives when applicable.

+ Set up an onboard new vendors.

+ Assist with RFQ's, expense purchases, and departmental workload queues as needed.

+ Collaborate cross-functional with operations, engineering, sales, and quality teams.

+ Perform JIT (just in time) purchasing.

+ Maintain and administrate vendor contracts.

+ Review and maintain proper safety stock levels.

+ Negotiate vendor pricing.

+ Perform other related duties or functions assigned.

** Your Expertise:*
* + 2-3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or supply chain with full cycle procurement exposure.

+ Strong understanding of purchasing processes from demand planning through order fulfillment.

+ Experience evaluating vendors, sourcing materials, and managing supplier performance.

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

+ Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle preferred).

+ Background in manufacturing required; fastener industry experience strongly preferred.

+

Experience with nuclear industry suppliers or safety related materials is a strong plus.

+ Ability to interpret technical requirements such as drawings or specifications is a plus.

+ Bachelor's Degree (Business Administration, Supply Chain)

+ Knowledge of material management functions which includes procurement planning and processes.

+ Ability to effectively communicate with others.

+ Strong oral and written communication skills.

+ Proven negotiation skills.

+ Display an understanding of the importance of product quality and compliance with health and safety procedures.
