Work with businesses and other functions to fully understand business needs and develop/select reliable suppliers to deliver high quality products at lowest total cost to Laird.
The position requires the capability to analyze, understand and interpret market dynamics and drivers, supplier capability and constraints, quantity leverage, regional regulations, and best sourcing practices to develop and implement sourcing strategies to achieve long term competitive advantages for the business.
Effectively utilize Laird Global Procurement processes, procedures and tools to achieve Procurement functional goals and corporate governance requirements, whilst delivering business needs. Have a disciplined approach to ensure system data remains accurate, up to date, and consistent.
Develop, negotiate, implement and manage Supply Agreements through understanding:
- Implications of contract language
- Laird demand forecast and critical growth objectives
- Quality, responsible care, regulatory and supply chain requirements
- Industry supply/demand dynamics and applying to sourcing strategies
- Laird and general market price history and drivers
Manage supply risk. Work with Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, PM, Quality, and other functions to mitigate supply risks and ensure supply security.
Initiate and drive results for cost saving and working capital improvement, manage effectively cost headwind.
Manage supplier relationship. Develop Supplier Relationship Management plans for critical suppliers to instill continuous improvement approach, maximize value generation, and minimize supply risk.
Your Qualification Profile:- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain or a related field is required
- 5-10 years of sourcing, operations or supply chain experience including at least 3 years in raw material strategic sourcing role
- Good communication and relationship skills (internal clients, external suppliers).
- High degree of competency in data and value analysis, combined with excellent IT skills.
- Good understanding of Legal fundamentals (as relates to contracts).
- High level of understanding of Supply Chain fundamentals and the integration with Sourcing.
- Good understanding of Finance fundamentals.
- High ethical standards.
- Good understanding of Regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage conflicting priorities.
- Travel may be required depending on project needs
