Senior Sourcing ManagerThe Senior Sourcing Manager leads strategic procurement operations, supplier relationship management, and team performance within a complex, highly regulated manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for designing and executing global sourcing strategies, executing high-value contract negotiations, and mitigating supply chain risk. Partnering closely with Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams, this position ensures uninterrupted supply continuity, optimizes total cost of ownership (TCO), and supports new product introduction (NPI).
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Sourcing & Category Management:
Develop and execute multi-year sourcing strategies for critical commodities, raw materials, and specialized components to support production schedules. - Contract Negotiation & Commercial
Terms:
Lead the negotiation of complex Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Long-Term Agreements (LTAs), and pricing frameworks to secure competitive advantage and risk mitigation. - Supplier Performance & Quality:
Monitor and evaluate vendor performance against strict quality, delivery, and cost metrics; drive continuous improvement and corrective action plans with underperforming suppliers. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with Engineering and Product Management early in the design cycle to identify qualified suppliers, support prototyping, and ensure design-for-manufacturability and cost targets are met. - Risk Mitigation & Compliance:
Proactively identify single-source and geopolitical supply chain vulnerabilities; develop robust dual-sourcing and inventory hedging strategies in compliance with rigid regulatory frameworks. - Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of sourcing specialists and buyers, fostering a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and professional growth. - Cost Optimization:
Deliver annual cost-out targets through strategic negotiations, value engineering (VAVE) initiatives, and total cost of ownership reductions.
- Experience:
7–10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within a highly regulated manufacturing or industrial engineering industry. - Expertise:
Proven track record of managing multi-million dollar spend portfolios and leading high-stakes contract negotiations with domestic and international suppliers. - Regulatory & Quality Savvy:
Strong understanding of rigid quality management systems, manufacturing qualification processes (e.g., PPAP, first-article inspection), and compliance standards. - Leadership:
Experience directly managing or leading cross-functional procurement teams; strong project management and stakeholder influence skills. - Analytical
Skills:
High proficiency in data analysis, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and total cost modeling. - Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPM, APICS/CSCP) are highly desirable.
