Inventory & Logistics Coordinator
The Inventory & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing inventory levels at both the St. Clair and 26th St. locations to meet customer demand and seasonal needs, and for coordinating incoming deliveries and outgoing shipments to meet customer requirements. This role travels between the St. Clair and 26th St. facilities at least once per week and must be able to provide reliable personal transportation for that purpose.
As part of a small manufacturing team, this person is expected to take on a variety of responsibilities across logistics, inventory, and purchasing. The Coordinator proposes production scheduling based on order volume and reviews it with the General Manager before it moves forward, and will participate in daily/weekly/monthly meetings to review orders and align on the schedule. This position requires a high level of detail and strong record-keeping skills, and works with a good degree of independence day to day, while checking in with management on decisions of larger consequence (e.g., changing vendors, finalizing the production schedule).
The goal is to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained to meet customer demand and business needs. This position is required to be on-site at our Saint Clair location, with regular travel to the 26th St. location.
- Assist with identifying and qualifying vendors to maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Monitor vendor performance and flag when a change may be needed; if a vendor offers better pricing or service, bring the comparison to the General Manager for a final decision on whether to switch
- Work with vendors to stay current on challenges with lead times and short supplies
- Source potential new vendors for existing supplies to address supply chain shortages and rising prices, for management's review
- Purchase raw materials and place Purchase Orders to replenish inventory and other items as needed
- Manage, track, and maintain all inventory, packaging, and facility supplies across both locations
- Receive all inventory into the system as it is delivered
- Build and maintain a filing system to store records within GAAP
- Run weekly reports to monitor inventory levels for both locations
- Conduct cycle counts per the schedule developed with accounting to maintain inventory accuracy
- Work with Manufacturing and Chemists to stay current on BOMs and formulas
- Update the ERP system to reflect any changes
- Analyze inventory and purchasing reports and share findings with upper management
- Monitor demand and analyze data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs
- Propose the production schedule based on order volume, customer ship dates, and seasonality
- Review proposed schedule with the General Manager and obtain approval before it moves forward
- Communicate the approved shipping/production schedule to FDI Manufacturing and post it as developed
- Handle logistics for Franchisee orders of Resin, FAC, and parts
- Maintain the e-commerce site with integration to the ERP system
- Receive orders into the ERP system
- Coordinate all outbound freight and shipments
- Monitor all shipments through delivery to the customer
- Handle delivery issues as they arise
- File and follow through on Incident Reports with carriers to ensure proper refunds
- Invoice all orders once shipped
- Work with freight suppliers to reduce costs and improve delivery times, bringing recommendations to management
- Serve as liaison to shippers, manufacturers, suppliers, and customers
- Travel between the St. Clair and 26th St. facilities at least weekly using personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed per company policy)
- Coordinate and manage several operational apps, including the e-commerce site and Sierra gate control access
- Other duties as assigned
- 2+ years of relevant experience in inventory, logistics, purchasing, or a related operational role
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle— required for regular travel between the St. Clair and 26th St. locations
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Working knowledge of logistics and ERP software (specific system experience not required; training provided)
- Ability to simultaneously track and manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Sound problem-solving and proactive, critical thinking
- Team-oriented, with the ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
Wage Range: $25 - $30
