Responsibilities- Lead forecasting and data modeling for all housing types—residence halls, apartments, and Greek facilities. Analyze yield, retention, and attrition data to project capacity and revenue. Produce dashboards and reports for leadership that inform decision-making, budget forecasts, and housing rate recommendations. (20%)
- Oversee the housing assignment process for approximately 5,000 students, ensuring equitable placements, billing accuracy, and compliance with institutional policies. Manage assignment timelines, communications, and integration with university systems (Registrar, Admissions, Financial Aid). (20%)
- Act as a primary user of housing systems (Star Rez and related platforms). Partner with UTech and Institutional Research to ensure seamless system integration and accurate data. (15%)
- Coordinate with university and city partners to facilitate student move-in and move-out, including first-year and returning student move-in as well as summer transitions. (10%)
- Supervise the Housing Assignments Coordinator and two Graduate Assistants. Set goals, evaluate performance, and provide training in data literacy, process management, and customer service communication. (10%)
- Lead the review of housing agreements, cancellations, and appeals. Provide data-informed recommendations to ensure policies are equitable, transparent, and financially sound. Collaborate with Student Affairs on revisions. (10%)
- Provide occupancy and other information to Admissions, Financial Aid, Facilities, and Residence Life. Communicate occupancy trends, housing deadlines, and data insights to university partners and the campus community. (5%)
- Work with the university’s off-campus housing locator provider and ensure students have resources when looking for off-campus housing options. (5%)
- Participate in the departmental on-call rotation. (5%)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Department:
Continuous contact with the Executive Director, Associate Director, and Assistant Directors to coordinate occupancy data and operational planning.
University:
Regular contact with Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Facilities, UTech, and Institutional Research to align data and housing capacity planning.
External:
Occasional contact with software vendors and peer institutions to share best practices and evaluate system tools.
Students:
Regular contact with students and families to provide housing assignment support, policy explanations, and billing information.
Direct supervision of:
Housing Assignments Coordinator and Graduate Assistants (2).
Responsible for hiring, training, evaluation, and professional development of assigned staff. Oversees workflow and ensures accuracy and accountability in all housing data operations.
QualificationsExperience: 4 to 6 years of progressively responsible experience in university housing, data analytics, business operations, or related administrative field. Supervisory experience required.
Education/Licensing: Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree in higher education administration, data analytics, business, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency with housing and data management systems (Star Rez, Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Knowledge of university housing assignment and billing procedures.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to supervise and coach staff effectively and foster a collaborative, results-oriented team culture.
