The Executive Director, Region 9 serves as the senior regional leader and public-facing representative of the International Surface Fabricators Association (ISFA) across the Western United States and U.S. Pacific Territories. This role is responsible for advancing ISFA’s mission to help counter top and surface fabricators learn, work safe, and grow, while executing regional strategies aligned with ISFA’s 2026–2028 Strategic Framework.
This position plays a critical leadership role in launching and piloting the Guidelines for Fabrication Contractors and Shop Licensing, expanding membership, strengthening safety and workforce programs, and representing ISFA with government agencies, regulators, alliance partners, and industry stakeholders. The Executive Director acts as a connector—bringing together fabricators, suppliers, educators, and policymakers to build a stronger, safer, and more professional trade.
Bilingual communication (English/Spanish) is required to ensure inclusive engagement and effective delivery of programs across the region.
Key Responsibilities Regional Leadership & Representation- Serve as ISFA’s senior representative across Region 9, representing the association with:
- State and federal regulatory agencies (including OSHA-related stakeholders)
- Legislative offices and enforcement bodies
- Industry partners, alliance organizations, and trade groups
- Act as a trusted voice for counter top and surface fabricators, reinforcing ISFA’s role as the standards-, safety-, and education-driven association for the trade
- Support and advance ISFA’s national advocacy, standards, and self-regulation initiatives at the regional level
- Lead the regional pilot and rollout of ISFA’s Guidelines for Fabrication Contractors and Shop Licensing, aligned with ANSI/ISO frameworks and accreditation principles
- 2026 Goals
- Support shop participation in safety, compliance, and accreditation programs, including silica and RCS exposure controls
- Coordinate with ISFA leadership, staff, and councils to ensure proper documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement
- Help educate regulators, fabricators, and partners on the purpose, value, and structure of licensing and standards programs
- Grow and retain ISFA fabricator and associate partner membership throughout Region 9
- Build strong relationships with shop owners, operators, and regional leaders
- Launch and support regional engagement efforts, including:
- Regional meetings and meetups
- Peer groups and advisory councils
- Grassroots outreach at regional and national trade events
- Support onboarding, renewals, and member engagement in coordination with ISFA’s national team
- Implement and promote ISFA programs in:
- Safety, health, and regulatory compliance
- Education, training, and workforce development
- Apprenticeships, certifications, and career pathways
- Increase awareness of ISFA initiatives through direct outreach, presentations, and collaboration with regional partners
- Ensure programs remain practical, shop-focused, and aligned with real-world fabrication operations
- Deliver presentations, meetings, and member communications in both English and Spanish
- Support Spanish-language training, safety resources, and member engagement efforts
- Serve as a bridge between ISFA’s national initiatives and diverse regional communities
- Provide regular reports to ISFA leadership on:
- Regional membership activity and growth
- Program participation and outcomes
- Regulatory and legislative developments
- Key risks, opportunities, and stakeholder feedback
