Position: Lead Scheduler – Large New Construction Programs

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact will be at the heart of the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) expansion, as we seek a Lead Scheduler to join our global program management and airport design team.

Jacobs ranks #1 in Program Management by ENR for four consecutive years and has a long history in airport design and construction. We partner with the City of Cleveland’s Department of Port Control (DPC) to deliver program and construction management services for large capital projects. Over the next five years our team will support DPC in leading a Multi-Phase Terminal Modernization Program, transforming and modernizing CLE’s 100‑year‑old facility for future growth while maintaining full operational capacity during construction.

The Lead Scheduler will manage the overall master construction schedule, ensuring accurate integration of owner requirements, contractor submissions, and critical milestones across all disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Jacobs’ Construction Management team and the contractors’ scheduling teams.
  • Integrate owner requirements and collect monthly progress updates from required stakeholders.
  • Participate in weekly project construction progress meetings and report scheduling concerns and mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate contractor progress, identify potential issues when interim milestones are not met, and coordinate schedule updates with contractors, especially those impacting critical milestones.
  • Review contractors’ monthly schedule submissions; develop monthly Technical Schedule Reports (TSR) for each contractor’s schedule; discuss TSRs and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Manage completion of all schedule submissions within the review timeline.
  • Evaluate schedule risks with Jacobs’ construction management team and recommend tracking and corrective actions.
  • Work with the construction management team to issue a recovery schedule based on contractual requirements and identified slippage.
  • Provide 30‑, 60‑, and 90‑day key activity descriptions for the Airport’s monthly Executive Committee meetings.
  • Update and maintain the Monthly Metrics report schedule sections, including the project’s scheduling performance index (SPI).
  • Attend the Airport’s monthly project review meetings and present key schedule updates.
  • Supervise the other Jacobs’ team scheduler.
  • Work closely with the contractors’ scheduling teams on corrective actions and mitigation measures.
Here’s what you'll need
  • Minimum 15 years of experience as a construction scheduler on infrastructure programs with a program management firm or contractor, including large airport, rail terminal, hospital, campus, or similar projects.
  • At least five years of experience on large ($500 million+) multi‑year, complex, new construction airport programs with multiple contractors.
  • Minimum three years in a lead scheduler or scheduling manager position.
  • Ability to work onsite at Client/CLE during the regular work week (M‑F).
  • Demonstrated skill in using P6 Scheduling Software.
  • In‑depth knowledge of construction scheduling, logistics, and multi‑disciplinary coordination.
  • Experience conducting detailed schedule reviews, preparing Technical Schedule Reports, and developing recovery plans.
  • Proven track record as an integral team member on large, complex infrastructure projects.
Ideally, you'll also have
  • Experience leading a scheduling team for a contractor.
