• Estimate costs for sheet metal fabrication projects and provide accurate quotes for clients.
• Work with clients to determine short-term production and prototype projects involving sheet metal fabrication.
• Calculate cost projections and profit margins to meet project budgets and company profitability.
• Quote costs for projects and communicate estimates to clients.
• Collaborate with engineering and purchasing and other company principals as part of a team effort.
• Utilize sheet metal flat sheets in forming and manufacturing various projects, applying cost projection calculations.

• Sales experience — phone or general sales experience.
• Prior manufacturing experience and fabrication of metals experience.
• Good math skills and ability to read blueprints.
• Prior sheet metal fabrication and estimating background.
• Experience estimating projected costs for production projects and ability to quote costs for projects.
• Ability to deal with clients seeking estimation of short-term production or prototype projects involving sheet metal fabrication.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication tools and processes.
• Team player able to work with Engineering & Purchasing and principals in the company in a team effort.

The successful candidate we seek has prior experience, preferably working in a sheet metal fabrication/production environment. The incumbent has worked with customers who seek short-term manufacturing projects utilizing sheet metal fabrication in the development of short-run prototype projects, including fabrication of metal enclosures or related projects—from commercial to military and other prototypes or upgrades of present products. The incumbent has been a sales estimator working with clients and engineering to secure new projects and obtain accurate cost projections that involve projecting accurate quotes and profit margins to stay within cost projections and company profit margins on time within the budget projected for successful manufacturing for the client and our company profit margins.

The successful candidate has at least two 3+ years of experience demonstrating the ability to work with the customer as well as lead the total team effort to success, demonstrating the ability to bring projects in time and on budget with successful profit margins.
