ZENEX International is an established but growing manufacturer of high quality industrial and institutional chemical products. We are working with our partner, Eveready Products, to support recruitment efforts as we continue to build on our success and improve our operations.
Eveready Products is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Laboratory Technician to join their team. The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, preparing samples, analyzing results, and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and efficient operations. This role requires strong technical skills, a commitment to safety protocols, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:- Responsible for the preparation of production samples and testing.
- Analyze samples for physical and chemical characteristics.
- Record, interpret, and report test results to management.
- Work with hazardous chemicals in a safe environment.
- Operate laboratory testing equipment.
- Collect data from test results and communicate discrepancies to management.
- Maintain chemistry on product lines.
- Set up, operate, and maintain various pieces of laboratory equipment and make repairs as needed.
- Utilize appropriate safety methods, cleanliness, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Safety training.
- Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner.
- Suggest and implement possible modifications of procedures to improve the productivity of preparation and analysis methods or techniques.
- Experience:
- Diploma, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 2+ years’ experience in a chemical plant environment is preferred.
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of laboratory best practices and safety procedures.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and computer systems.
- Skills:
- Interpersonal skills to collaborate at various technical levels and cross departmental.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Work collaborative with Quality Control staff and Manufacturing staff to troubleshoot production problems/issues.
- Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical Requirements
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing plant/chemical lab environment.
- Reach, squat, bend, and lift up to 25lbs.
- Must be able to operate hand tools.
- 40-hour full-time workweek, year-round, with Overtime availability.
