Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and developing the manufacturing engineering function across assembly and machining operations for a vertically integrated flow control manufacturer. This role provides technical leadership, drives continuous improvement initiatives, supports CNC and machining processes, and ensures manufacturing systems are optimized for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The position partners closely with Operations, Engineering and Quality to support production goals and long-term strategic objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Strategy
- Lead, coach, and develop the manufacturing engineering team.
- Establish departmental goals aligned with plant and company objectives.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and technical excellence.
- Support capital planning, equipment upgrades, and long-term operational strategy.
Assembly Operations
- Develop and improve assembly processes and workflow optimization.
- Maintain and upgrade automated equipment to support production needs.
- Implement standardized work instructions and process documentation.
- Evaluate and implement new technology and equipment to support growth.
Process Improvement & Cost Reduction
- Identify cost savings opportunities through process improvements and material flow optimization.
- Drive OEE improvements and production throughput enhancements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Machining & CNC Operations
- Oversee process development and optimization for CNC machining centers (mills, lathes, multi-axis).
- Improve machining efficiency through tooling optimization, cycle time reduction, and fixture design.
- Collaborate with Maintenance to improve equipment uptime and reliability.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Lead manufacturing readiness for new product launches.
- Develop process flow diagrams, work instructions, and tooling requirements.
- Support prototype builds and transition to production.
- Education:
Technical degree or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field required. - Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a machining and/or assembly environment.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling, fixturing, and programming fundamentals desired.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience with ERP systems and production planning systems preferred.

Manufacturing plant environment including machining and assembly departments. Frequent presence on the production floor required. Occasional lifting and extended standing may be required.
