Location: Cleveland, OH - Central Support

Description

The Sourcing department manages the full purchase order (PO) cycle to ensure products are available when needed. The Sourcing Expeditor plays a critical role in maintaining accuracy across quantities, descriptions, dates, and costs on both sides of each transaction.

This position works with BDI branches and supplier partners to ensure the seamless opening and closing of purchase orders. By expediting materials and proactively resolving delays, the Sourcing Expeditor helps secure timely delivery of goods, supporting a reliable supply chain that keeps customer projects on schedule and within budget.

After two weeks of in‑person training, the role transitions to a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and coordinate the movement of materials between suppliers and BDI locations to ensure timely delivery.
  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm order details, resolve discrepancies, and update delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with buyers and planning teams to maintain visibility on timelines and potential delays.
  • Identify bottlenecks and take proactive steps to resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date data within the operating system (SAP).
  • Analyze trends, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions collaboratively.
  • Assist with purchase order confirmations by reviewing data and ensuring a match on both sides.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of expediting, purchasing, or related work experience.
  • Team‑oriented mindset.
  • Strong sense of urgency with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Flexible and adaptable with strong multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
