DuPont is currently seeking an experienced Machinist for our Stow, OH site!

Sign-on bonus: $500 and a $500 bonus after 90 days;
Pay scale: $29.18 - $35.62

• Set up and operate, in an efficient, timely manner, a wide range of machine tools, both CNC and manual such as grinders, mills, lathes, and hones on a diverse range of products involving difficult operations, aerospace tolerances, and complex shapes. Machines used may include HAAS vertical mills, Toyoda grinders, Accuturn, Prodigy, Hardinge, and HAAS lathes.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
• Modify programs in response to problems.
• Work from and read blueprints and set and check work to various quality control gauges.
• Monitor product quality and troubleshoot to determine causes of operating errors and make decisions to solve any errors.
• Confer with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
• Follow all safety requirements.
• Receive verbal and written information; record information; understand written instructions and communicate them to others.
• Read process instructions and drawings and attend to details.
• Participate in customer audits and complete the Certified Operator Program (COP), DVV’s intensive, skills-based validation and training program.
• Participate in housekeeping and training activities; audit processes to assure compliance with quality practices and work instructions.
• Monitor production processes and controlling product processes, obtain samples, and load products.
• Operate mobile transport equipment.
• Facilitate corrective and preventive action related to supplier quality problems and source inspection issues; issue stop tags/hold tags when conditions warrant.
• Maintain quality metrics to facilitate positive, proactive operational change; analyze non-conformance data and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2+ years of machining experience OR a Machining Technology certificate
• Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift based on site requirements
• Willing and able to work overtime (including weekends, evenings, and holidays) as needed
• Knowledge of basic math
• Experience in machining composites, metals, and/or aluminum extrusions
• Ability to read CNC programs
• Demonstrated ability to set up and operate manual and CNC equipment
• Proficient in shop math, including geometry and conversions
• Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and understand tolerance
• Demonstrated ability to use precision gauges
• Knowledge of FANUC controls
• Excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Note:

If hired for the Stow location, cross-training at the Valley View, OH site may be required during training.

• 3+ years of machining experience
• CNC machinist certification
• Knowledge/experience in Statistical Process Control
