Summary
As an AR Lens Technician, you’ll prepare, coat, and inspect optical lenses using our anti‑reflective (AR) coating process. You’ll work with precision equipment in a clean, controlled lab and play a key part in delivering high‑quality lenses on time.
Primary Responsibilities- Clean, sort, and prep lenses for coating, and pull any that are damaged or defective.
- Load lenses into domes and set them into the AR machine, following established procedures.
- Monitor the coating process and help keep work moving through the lab.
- Clean and maintain the coating machines—inside and out—and keep simple maintenance records.
- Keep your workstation and the lab clean, organized, and ready to go.
- Handle flammable and corrosive materials safely every day.
- Strong attention to detail and a quality‑first mindset.
- Comfort working with machines and automated equipment.
- Ability to handle flammable and corrosive materials safely.
- Solid problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt as the workflow changes.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical certification or coursework in optics, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
- 1‑2 years of experience in manufacturing, laboratory, or technical environment preferred.
- Manual dexterity for handling small precision components.
- Visual acuity sufficient for detailed inspection work.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Comfortable working in a laboratory environment with controlled lighting and temperature.
- Must follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Daily handling of flammable and corrosive materials requires strict adherence to safety data sheets.
- Participate in regular safety training programs and meetings.
- Maintain awareness of hazardous material handling procedures.
- Report safety concerns immediately to AR Manager.
- Work in compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
