The Operator I position performs a variety of skilled tasks involved in general maintenance and operations. The role requires a basic understanding of equipment and the ability to perform related work as required.

- Verify and record product identification
- Reconcile coil identity for production and load coil
- Ensure material is loaded onto lines and fed into production equipment in accordance with all safety policies and quality procedures
- Make necessary adjustments to ensure material tracking and stacking
- Perform in-process visual inspections
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Ability to use computers, read tape measures, micrometers, and calipers
- Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
- Able to perform basic arithmetic with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to work outside normal business hours/days as needed
- Effective interaction with employees at all levels of the company
- Reading and comprehension of simple work instructions, work orders, short correspondence, and memos written in English
- Writing simple correspondence in English
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- Industry knowledge and experience, a plus
- The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to high

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; frequently required to talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
