Machinist
As a Machinist, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of CNC machines and other necessary equipment. You will monitor machine operations, tooling, and fluid levels to ensure optimal performance. Your role involves reviewing samples and drawings to understand specifications, taking measurements, and planning actions to complete tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC machines and other necessary equipment.
- Monitor machine operations, tooling, and fluid levels.
- Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications.
- Take measurements and mark materials for cutting or shaping.
- Plan the sequence of actions required for job completion.
- Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects.
- Ensure lubrication and coolant tanks are filled, and chip buckets are emptied.
- Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
- Proficiency in machining quality tooling using Engine lathe(s), EDM, Drill Press(s), Shaper, Saw, Manual Bridge Port, CNC Lathes, Mills, and Boring Mill.
- Ability to write G & M codes at the machine controls.
- Knowledge of basic shop math and trigonometry.
- Experience with HAAS 3 & 4 axis milling and HAAS lathe programming.
- Understanding of job shop operations.
- Intermediate to advanced level mathematics.
- Ability to navigate basic technology, including digital self-service platforms and time clocks.
- Regularly lift and move up to 40 lbs.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Siemens Controls is a plus.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM and GD&T.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment involves interaction with historic machinery, which may include proximity to heat, noise, debris, and overhead cranes. You will be working on the 1st shift from 6 AM to 2:30 PM. The facility is equipped with a variety of mechanical equipment tailored to industry-specific needs, providing a dynamic and challenging workspace.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
