The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations across multiple shifts, ensuring production, quality, safety, and efficiency goals are achieved. This role provides leadership to production teams, manages resources, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and supports operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Oversee daily production activities and ensure schedules are met.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and production personnel.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and operational performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage staffing, equipment, materials, and other resources to maximize efficiency.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Analyze production data to identify opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other departments to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership regarding production performance and operational challenges.
Production Manager Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of production management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Steel industry experience (preferred).
  • Experience leading multiple shifts and supervising production teams.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and workplace safety standards.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production planning systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
