EDM Sinker Operator, 2nd Shift

Job Summary

Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for an EDM Sinker Operator at our Engines Products - Cleveland Operations Tempcraft facility located at 3960 S. Marginal Rd. in Cleveland. This position supports the manufacturing of molds and dies using EDM sinker machine operations and standard mold‑making techniques, procedures and criteria.

• Operate EDM sinker machines (Sodick and Charmille) concurrently on several products.
• Interpret design blueprints and set‑up sheets to ensure proper set‑up of mold details.
• Perform operations within very close tolerances.
• Maintain own tools and toolbox.
• Inspect own work.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Programming throughout the manufacturing process.
• Operate additional machinery such as Bridge Port, grinders, saws and other EDM equipment.
• Comply with Corporate EHS, Quality and HR rules and standards.

Basic Qualifications:

• Five or more years of experience in tool making or mold making.
• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

• State‑issued journeyman’s papers for Tool & Die or Mold Making or eight or more years of job‑shop experience.
• Previous experience in the construction of turbine/airfoil molds and dies.
• Ability to effectively work and communicate as part of a die‑making team.
• Basic math and trigonometry knowledge.
• Comprehensive knowledge of tooling processes.

Hourly Range: $20–$40 per hour approximation (actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset and/or location).
