Set Up Operator – Under general supervision, performs a variety of semi‑skilled tasks involved in general maintenance and operations processes.

• Maintain a safe and healthful work environment through good housekeeping and safe work habits
• Develop knowledge of the slitter set‑up program
• Generate build sheets based on production work orders
• Build heads utilizing build sheet instructions
• Maintain knife and rubber inventory
• Clean slitter knives and slitter tooling
• Set‑up, maintain and repair production machines, tooling and other equipment
• Perform routine checks of parts to ensure product quality
• Continuously inspect machinery, equipment, and processes for safety compliance
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

• Ability to use computers, read tape measures, micrometers and calipers
• Ability to execute complete setup and operation tasks for slitting to meet customer specifications and production requirements
• Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, common fractions and decimals)
• Availability to work outside normal business hours/days as needed
• Effective interaction with employees at all levels of the company
• Read and comprehend simple work instructions, work orders, short correspondence and memos written in English
• Write simple correspondence in English

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Industry knowledge and experience (a plus)

• The noise level is usually medium to high.
• Physical demands include regularly sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talking or hearing; standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
