Position

Summary

The Master Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to support customer demand, inventory objectives, and manufacturing capacity requirements for Avtron's Load Bank product lines. This role serves as the central planning function connecting Sales, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Warehouse teams. The Master Planner will utilize SAP ERP to translate customer demand into executable production plans through Work Orders, ensuring material availability, optimal capacity utilization, and on‑time delivery performance.

The position requires strong analytical capabilities, ERP expertise, and the ability to drive cross‑functional alignment in a make‑to‑order and configure‑to‑order manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities Master Production Scheduling
  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for all load bank product families.
  • Convert forecast and customer demand into achievable production schedules.
  • Balance customer requirements with manufacturing capacity constraints.
  • Review and adjust production priorities based on business needs.
  • Maintain planning horizons ranging from daily execution through 12‑month outlooks.
  • Drive schedule adherence and production stability.
Demand & Supply Planning
  • Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and Customer Service teams to understand demand changes.
  • Analyze demand variability and identify potential supply risks.
  • Conduct Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) to validate labor and equipment availability.
  • Ensure alignment between demand plans, inventory strategy, and production capabilities.
  • Support monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
SAP Planning & Work Order Management
  • Create, release, monitor, and manage production Work Orders in SAP.
  • Maintain planning parameters, lead times, lot sizes, and scheduling settings within SAP.
  • Execute MRP analysis and planning recommendations.
  • Monitor order status and proactively resolve schedule conflicts.
Material Availability Management
  • Work closely with Procurement and Material Planning teams to ensure timely material availability.
  • Identify shortages and develop mitigation plans.
  • Prioritize critical components impacting customer deliveries.
  • Support inventory optimization initiatives while maintaining service levels.
  • Monitor excess, obsolete, and slow‑moving inventory exposure.
Capacity Planning
  • Develop and maintain capacity models for manufacturing operations.
  • Evaluate labor, machine, and resource constraints.
  • Recommend overtime, staffing, subcontracting, or schedule adjustments as required.
  • Support long‐range capacity planning initiatives.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
  • Lead weekly production planning meetings.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Warehouse teams.
  • Communicate schedule changes and impacts to stakeholders.
  • Escalate risks affecting customer commitments.
  • Drive improvements in planning processes, scheduling discipline, and system utilization.
  • Support SAP enhancements and planning automation initiatives.
  • Develop planning metrics and reporting dashboards.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects.
Minimum Qualifications

Required Qualifications Education

  • Related field
Experience
  • 5+ years of production planning, master scheduling, or supply chain planning experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment using Work Orders.
  • Experience with engineered products, industrial equipment, electrical assemblies, or similar complex manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems required– SAP/SAP B1 is a plus.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional planning processes.
