Supports production runs on Blister Pack equipment during normal operation. The technician will be responsible for making necessary adjustments, troubleshooting problems, completing changeovers, performing maintenance, and supporting production runs to ensure processing is completed as scheduled and escalates issues to Maintenance as needed.
Job Functions- Oversee general productivity of the machines to ensure production goals are met.
- Function as a leader for those assigned to the Cartoblis, including assigning duties and tasks, monitoring employee productivity, and notifying the necessary manager of any potential issues or concerns.
- Work with the production planner and supervisor to schedule jobs between both machines to effectively meet customer demand.
- Train machine technicians on Cartoblis operation, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
- Act as the blister quality expert and train new employees on quality criteria (inspecting blisters, leak testing, and all required paperwork).
- Work with Quality to identify and maintain blister quality standards.
- Perform in-process inspections per SOP.
- Conduct all SOP training for new employees.
- Collaborate cooperatively with management, co‑workers, and vendors.
- Set up jobs: install changeout parts, perform manual machine adjustments.
- Load and install print mat, adjust settings to get in band, fill ink, thread PVC and foil.
- Collaborate with print mat vendor on adjustments and standardization.
- Wear required PPE.
- Follow cGMP standards.
- Provide training on other equipment when the two Cartoblis machines operate efficiently and without trouble.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2–4 years’ experience in manufacturing.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
- Familiarity with various mechanical and electrical measuring equipment.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions and assembly drawings.
- Familiar with CGMP compliance standards.
- Skill in using small hand tools.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership and ability to direct others.
- Capability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Understanding of all safety requirements and cautions.
- Frequently sit, stand, or be in motion for extended periods of up to 10 hours.
- Occasional bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting required.
- Use of both right and left hands for simple and power grasping.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Read computer screens or other electronic devices.
- Use various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
General schedule is a 10‑hour Monday‑Thursday assignment. Employees must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, early mornings, weekends, and be punctual.
