Brief Summary of Position Purpose
- Shipment of finished goods. Receive purchased material from outside vendors.
- Prepare shipments; to receive in all materials and distribute accordingly.
- Operate, as required to load, unload and move raw materials and finished parts, various material handling equipment including lift trucks and cranes.
- With equipment or by hand, locate, retrieve, move and position material as needed.
- Packs material in suitable containers for stacking or storing. Marks necessary information on containers. Records information on proper forms as to the location and amount of stock.
- Assists in the periodic stock inventories by locating, identifying, counting and moving material.
- Moves in-process and finished assemblies within a department or from one department to another as directed.
- Places material in proper shipping container for safe shipment and seals with sealing tape or steel bands. Constructs special shipping containers when necessary; weighs package.
- Makes Bill of Lading showing name and address of consignee, postage arrangements, description of order including weight, order numbers, etc., and signs.
- As required, helps in stocking finished material and parts received from outside suppliers.
- Receives all material coming into the plant. Checks each shipment to see that the items are not damaged, are of the specified quantity, and are the correct items. Determines where the item is to be used and tries to dock the shipment as close as possible to the final storage location. As necessary, helps unload the shipment and opens or uncrates items.
- Prepares receiving slips and marks all cartons, boxes or material with receiving slip number. Distributes copies of receiving slip to designated and interested parties.
- Maintain records as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area including removing chips from machines as required.
- Perform and document P.M. as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Minimum six (6) months manufacturing experience required
- 1+ years of prior shipping experience desired
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Familiar with computer data entry and email
- Basic math skills
- Strong communication skills
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Fast paced production environment
- Position requires concentration, accuracy, and focused mental effort
- Works in plant environment with exposure to plant heat, moderate noise, dust, dirt and fumes
