EDM Wire Operator, 2nd Shift

Job Summary

EDM Wire Operator at Howmet Aerospace Engines Products - Cleveland Operations Tempercraft facility located at 3960 S. Marginal Rd, Cleveland. This role supports manufacturing molds and dies using EDM Sinker machine operations and standard mold‑making techniques. Position is 2nd Shift, Monday‑Friday 2 pm–10 pm.

• Operate EDM Wire machines (Mitsubishi) to support several products concurrently.
• Interpret design blueprints and set‑up sheets to ensure proper set‑up of mold details.
• Perform operations within very close tolerances.
• Provide own tools and toolbox.
• Inspect own work.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Programming throughout production.
• Operate additional machinery (Bridge Port, Grinders, Saws, EDM).
• Comply with Corporate EHS, Quality, and HR policies.

Basic Qualifications:

• Five or more years of experience in tool making or mold making.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• State‑issued Journeyman papers for Tool & Die or Mold Making, or eight or more years of job‑shop experience.
• Experience constructing turbine or airfoil molds and dies (strongly preferred).
• Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a die‑making team.
• Basic math and trigonometry knowledge.
• Thorough knowledge of tooling process.
• Hourly range: $20‑$40 per hour (actual compensation varies by education, experience, skill set, and location).
