Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory testing including titrations, ICP analysis, and viscosity testing in accordance with safety and quality guidelines.
  • Follow all safety and quality policies; maintain satisfactory production levels.
  • Prepare and/or aliquot samples for required tests; load samples on validated automated instrumentation when applicable.
  • Verify and calibrate equipment regularly according to method quality requirements; perform routine maintenance as needed.
  • Conduct analyses using direct testing (wet chemistry) and perform calculations related to analytical preparations (e.g., Cetane Index, Viscosity Index).
  • Perform sample preparation for multiple testing requirements and assist with storage and disposal of client samples.
  • Monitor inventory levels for supplies and reagents; prepare and maintain standards and reagents (some standards may require a minimum Level
    2).
  • Generate, handle, transport, and dispose of hazardous wastes in compliance with ALS policy; collect, store, and label hazardous waste appropriately.
  • Contribute to the sample receival process, including opening packages, sorting, and data entry; participate in shift handovers to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities for the site and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED required; laboratory experience is preferred.
  • Physical ability to stand for up to 8 hours; ability to speak/hear clearly; dexterity to operate equipment and handle glassware; good vision and ability to read reports; capable of effective communication.
