Position Summary

The First Line Leader is responsible for leading daily production activities for one shift at the Cleveland site. This role supervises approximately 30 production employees, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence through strong leadership, employee development, safety compliance, and production performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead shift operations to meet safety, quality, production, and efficiency goals.
  • Promote and model Qnity Core Values and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Communicate shift objectives, performance metrics, and business goals to team members.
  • Coach, develop, and hold employees accountable for safety, quality, attendance, and performance standards.
  • Support employee development through training, feedback, and performance management.
  • Foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and site policies.
  • Lead and participate in safety, environmental, health (EHS), and quality investigations.
  • Facilitate problem-solving activities and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor labor utilization, overtime, operating supplies, and other controllable costs.
  • Complete Leader Standard Work activities, including routine production floor walkthroughs.
  • Manage staffing levels to support production requirements.
  • Address employee relations and personnel issues effectively and professionally.
  • Coordinate equipment readiness for maintenance and contractor activities, including lockout/tagout procedures, decontamination, and work permits.
  • Become qualified as a Safe Work Permit Writer.
Qualifications Required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with standard business software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, prioritize work, and solve problems in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred
  • Previous supervisory, team lead, or people leadership experience.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence programs.
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), safety systems, and manufacturing best practices.
