About the Opportunity
A global leader in scientific and life sciences manufacturing is seeking a Director, Operations to lead site operations at a growing, strategically important manufacturing facility. This is a high-visibility role for a leader who thrives on scaling complex technical operations and building organizations that can support increasing scope, complexity, and growth.
You’ll take ownership of end-to-end manufacturing operations - production execution, process controls, operational readiness, and performance management - while shaping the site into a scalable, high-performing, globally relevant manufacturing and technology hub.
What You’ll Do- Own overall operations strategy and execution - safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, and financial performance
- Scale manufacturing capacity through new process introduction, product/process transfer, and capability expansion
- Build and sustain a continuous improvement operating system (Lean, standard work, daily management, tiered accountability, KPI governance, root cause problem solving)
- Strengthen product lifecycle capabilities supporting NPI, process validation, and commercial readiness
- Advance automation, digital manufacturing, and data-driven performance management
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, quality, supply chain, finance, commercial, and HR
- Drive site investment and Cap Ex planning to improve capacity, quality, and cost
- Build and coach a future-ready leadership team in a high-growth, matrixed environment
- Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, safety, and environmental standards (ISO 9001 or comparable)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related technical field
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing operations leadership experience
- Proven track record scaling manufacturing operations (site expansion, new line launch, equipment/process transfer, capacity ramp, or operational readiness)
- Demonstrated success implementing and sustaining Lean/continuous improvement systems with measurable results
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, finance, and HR
- Strong financial acumen - budget ownership, Cap Ex planning, cost productivity
- Proven people leadership - coaching, talent development, organizational capability building
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or Operations
- Background in electronics, electromechanical, instrumentation, automation, precision, or scientific equipment manufacturing
- Experience in regulated environments (ISO 9001 or similar)
- Experience with NPI, process validation, or manufacturing technology transfer
- Global, matrixed, or multi-site leadership experience
- Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, or similar operating system expertise
