When you add in our additional delivery channels, such as email, Informed Delivery, and online advertising, we average over two million messages a day delivered to mailboxes, inboxes and online.
Midwest Direct is seeking a detail-oriented Folder Operator to set up, operate, and maintain folding equipment used in our mail and print production process. The Folder Operator ensures that printed materials are folded accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards to meet production deadlines.
Job duties include:
• Set up, adjust, and operate folding machines (e.g., buckle folders, knife folders, combination folders) according to job specifications
• Read and interpret work orders, job tickets, and folding diagrams to determine correct fold types (letter, tri-fold, z-fold, gate fold, etc.)
• Perform machine makeready, including adjusting fold plates, rollers, and guides for different paper stocksand sizes
• Monitor the folding process to ensure consistent quality, catching and correcting misfeeds, jams, or misfolds
• Conduct quality checks throughout the run, comparing output against samples/specifications
• Perform routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting on folding equipment
• Maintain accurate production records, including counts, waste, and downtime
• Safely handle and stage paper stock before and after folding
• Collaborate with other bindery and mailing staff to keep jobs moving through production on schedule
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety policies
Schedule:
- Monday through Thursday 8am - 5:30pm
- Friday 8am - 12pmCompensation:
- Base pay of $15 - 22/hr based on experience BENEFITS TO JOINING MIDWEST:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior experience operating folding equipment in a print, mailing, or bindery environment preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
• Ability to read and follow detailed job specifications and diagrams
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment
• Basic math skills for measuring and counting MUST be able to pass criminal background check and drug test!
