DescriptionThe Communications Management Intern supports University Marketing and Communications by creating engaging written content for current students and their families. This role focuses on newsletters and written communications that help students and parents feel informed about university resources, events and opportunities.
The intern will help ensure messaging is accessible and resonates with the student population , and that content in each newsletter is geared toward the specific audiences that will be receiving them. In addition, the intern will assist with appropriate communications projects as assigned.
This internship is designed as a skill-building, mentored experience and is especially well-suited for students interested in writing, communications, education, marketing or student success.
The salary for this position is $14.50 per hour.
QualificationsRequired skills:
Ability to work independently
Strong attention to detail
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong interest in writing, storytelling or communications
Willingness to revise content
Comfort asking questions and seeking clarification
Interest in student experience, access, belonging or transition support
No prior professional writing experience required
