About Drink Local Drink TapDrink Local Drink Tap (DLDT) is a small nonprofit focused on water access and equity through education and community engagement. We work to connect people to clean water issues and inspire action through hands‑on events and outreach. We are entering our 17th year of beach cleanups and community events and want to find the right person to increase capacity for our team's outreach in the community.
Position OverviewDLDT is seeking a Community Outreach Assistant to support our Education Program Manager in executing 30+ beach cleanups and assisting with approximately a dozen community events where we host an outreach table. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit work, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.
Responsibilities- Assist with beach cleanups at Edgewater Park
, including setup, volunteer support, and breakdown - Support community outreach and tabling events
, engaging with the public and sharing information about DLDT’s mission - Transport supplies and outreach materials to and from events using a personal vehicle
- Carry supplies up/down stairs from DLDT’s basement storage area
- Help organize event materials and follow staff direction during outreach programming
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to transport supplies
- Comfortable speaking with the public (no fear of public engagement or outreach)
- Strong verbal communication and time management skills
- Highly organized, dependable, and able to follow instructions clearly
- Ability to lift/carry supplies and move materials up/down stairs
- Interest in environmental issues, community engagement, and/or clean water
This role includes outdoor work in varying weather conditions and may require standing for extended periods during events.
